What We're About

Who is Asher Roland?

Asher Roland is the online name for Ethan Patrick. Ethan came up with this identity after thinking up book ideas and liking the pen name Asher Roland. When Ethan started making YouTube videos and other online content, they used the name to stay anonymous and because they liked it better.

Ethan started using DaVinci Resolve about seven years ago for an old YouTube channel. In 2018, they went to college for Multimedia Production, focusing on video. After graduating, Ethan worked at a small media production studio called "JRL Local," where they learned more about Fusion, Macros, and Scripting.

In early 2024, Ethan saw that Orson Lord from YouTube was looking for someone who could make Macros. They sent a message to Orson, thinking he probably had tons of messages. To their surprise, Orson actually wanted to meet! From that message, Ethan made contacts with other YouTubers like Jake Wipp, MrJustinEdits, and MrAlexTech, working on projects for them and sharing what Ethan might create next.

Why Fusion Pixel Studio(s)?

When looking for a company name, Ethan wanted something to say what the company does, and didn't want the plain "Use your Initials" company name.

Fusion comes from the idea of combining all parts of the video/project into one and from using the Fusion software from Blackmagic Design.

Pixel, since everything is done digitally, it felt fitting to include a callback to that idea.

..

Why not just use Asher Roland as a part of the company name?
I figured keeping any name I use out of the company name would be best practice as I may not be the only employee in the future and I do not want someone hopping aboard and not feeling like a sold part of the company!
